本标准为首次发布。本标准适用于在大气压下液态化学品在一个均匀被加热的容器内的热焰、冷焰自燃温度的判定。本标准适用于衡量和描述原料、产品在试验室内的受控条件下，受热或火焰后的反应，而不可用于评价处于实际火焰条件下的着火危险或风险。然而，本测试方法的结果，可作为评价特定使用的燃烧危险性的多种评估因素之一。本标准等同采用ＡＳＴＭ Ｅ６５９７８（２００５）《液体化学品自燃温度的试验方法》（英文版）。
